Mission Statement and about us
Our Mission, at the Embassy of the Republic of Zambia in Rome, Italy, is to articulate and implement Zambia's foreign policy and to facilitate interaction with the international community for the realization of Zambia's interests in Italy and other countries of accreditation namely the Republic of Malta, Republic of Portugal and the Kingdom of Spain, as well as at the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), World Food Programme (WFP), and the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD).
Her Excellency Ms. Mungoma Lucy Mungoma has been Ambassador in Italy since 17th December 2004. She is in charge of all the Embassy functions which include political, economic and multilateral, consular and visa, administrative and accounts issues.
The Political Section is responsible for enhancing political relations between Zambia and Italy and other countries of accreditation. Zambia enjoys longstanding warm and cordial relations characterized by strong bonds of friendship, partnership with all the countries of accreditation.
The Economic Section is responsible for the promotion of Zambia's interests in the areas of development aid, trade, investment and tourism.
The Multilateral Section takes care of all matters related to the Rome based United Nations food agencies namely; FAO, IFAD and WFP.
The Visa and Consular Section is responsible for entry clearance into Zambia. It provides visa services to Italians and other foreigners within the areas of accreditation who wish to visit Zambia either on business, study or for tourism purposes. The Section also provides assistance and protection for Zambian citizens both visiting and resident in Italy and countries of accreditation. Other services by the Section include facilitating passport renewal for Zambian nationals, issuance of travel documents of identity to Zambian nationals, issuance of Nulla Osta (Marriage Declarations) to Zambian nationals marrying in Italy, authentication of documents, and certification of birth registration to Zambian nationals.
The Administrative and Accounts Section is responsible for personnel, administrative and financial matters of the Embassy and supports all other sections.
