The Office of the Third Secretary Accounts is responsible for carrying out all financial and accounting duties in order to ensure efficient and effective utilization of resources and to ensure accountability. Specific duties include:

  • Maintaining of all records of revenue, receipts and expenditure in order to facilitate accountability of public funds;
  • Interpreting of financial regulations in order to ensure adherence to financial processes and procedures;
  • Advising the Head of Mission on financial matters in order to facilitate the provision of information and informed decision making;
  • Preparation of Mission Budget in order to facilitate acquisition and efficient utilization of resources;
  • Undertaking timely banking activities in order to facilitate transparency and accountability of deposits and withdrawal transactions;
  • Responding to all audit queries in order to facilitate the provision of information for audit purposes;
  • Keeping all accountable documents in order to ensure their security; and
  • Preparing reports of accounts and reconciliation of receipts and expenditure in order to provide information and facilitate informed decision making.
