As First Secretary Political and Administration, the office is responsible for monitoring, evaluating and advising on political developments in country of accreditation in order to facilitate informed decision making on Zambia’s Foreign Policy. The Office also supports Counselor Administration on all administrative matters. Specifically, the First Secretary Political and Administration is responsible for the following:

  • Management of personnel, administrative and financial matters of the Embassy and supports all other sections;
  • Monitoring the political developments in country of accreditation in order to facilitate informed decision making on Zambia’s Foreign Policy;
  • Preparing of weekly, monthly and annual Political Reports on country of accreditation and surrounding regions in order to provide information to facilitate informed decision-making;
  • Preparing of special political dispatches on specific political events in country of accreditation in order to facilitate the provision of information on current events; and
  • Promotion of bilateral relations with various stakeholders in country of accreditation in order to promote and protect Zambia’s interests.
